One of the most recognized faces of the Supermodel Era and beyond, Naomi Campbell, now 42 years old, is starting the next chapter of her illustrious and often infamous career.

Teaming up with the Oxygen Network, Supermodel Naomi Campbell is launching a new modeling television show entitled THE FACE.

"I look forward to discovering the next great model on The Face," said Campbell. "I'm looking for contestants who have the whole package - a beautiful face; healthy, toned body; unique look; interesting personality; confidence; and, above all, strong work ethic and drive. I'm seeking someone who possesses a global, worldly outlook, but can also be seen as a home-grown girl next door."

The show will be formatted in a similar way to America's Next Top Model, helmed by Tyra Banks, where contestants compete weekly to become the face of a major national brand.

"Most importantly," Campbell added, "I'm looking for a model with a fearless spirit who can completely transform like a chameleon, and take you on a unique journey that makes you believe that even the impossible is possible. If I find that, I'll find a truly great model!"

Campbell is well-known within the industry for her hot temper and shouting matches with agents, to the point that John Casablancas actually fired her from Elite Models, Casablancas stated that "no money or prestige could further justify the abuse". He described her as "manipulative, scheming, rude and impossible." Casablancas said "the agency would not employ her again if she were "the last model on earth."

Campbell was also fired from her role as a spokesmodel for The Ethical People for the Treatment of Animals (PETA), when after she posed in ads saying that she'd "Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur", she later appeared in a fashion campaign wearing fur. Boooo! Now don't get us started on that one!

Her personal life has also been widely reported, particularly her relationships with prominent men, including boxer Mike Tyson and actor Robert De Niro, as well as several highly publicized convictions for assault.

With all that going on we wonder if we'll see the sparks fly on THE FACE or if we'll see a kinder, gentler Naomi....stay tuned!
